MY JOURNEY FROM EXPLORATIONS TO SWATCHES

It is one of the most fascinating places and therefore it should be visited at least once in a lifetime. Hey, I'm not talking about any beautiful place. I'm sharing my beautiful journey from exploration to swatches. It took alot of time because I didn't know from where to start. Then my faculty suggested me to explore OHP which turned out the way I want. Moreover my exploration with this material was connencting to my inpiration. So it was fun exploring this.

MORE EXPLORATIONS

        JUST ANOTHER EXPLORATION
So this is my another exploration. Exploring every material gave different effect and turning into ellegance which was my essence, was challenging. I explored this swatch with the help of tissue paper and yarns. I have tried to show the essence of baroque by using its colour pallete. There were many hinderances that came to my way but challenging them was fun.

DEALING WITH DIFFERENT MATERIALS WERE CHALLENGING

YOU CHALLENGED ME, I TOOK YOUR CHALLENGE AND I WIN
Yes, It was challenging but more than that earlier it was just completing the work. Then I thought to take it as a challenge so that it could turn out the way I visualised in my mind. The inspiration came from my inspiration board. I drew my idea on blank paper and then I discussed it with my faculty. Guess what happened...? Faculty approved it and I completed my initial step to swatch. Trust me, if you will take your work as a challenge, you will do it by heart to make yourself win

Scribbles to Swatches

Who knew beginner's luck would turn out to be the greatest thing for me? I was on Cloud 9, with all the overwhelming feedback on my blog that I completely forgot there was more to be done!
I was so lost in the sea of instructions that work was the last thing i wanted to think about. "Swatches" " Process" "Sketches" were the only words I heard for over an entire week! This was the nightmare I was avoiding. It was high time I started exploring the extent of my essence and this is the aftermath

Then I sat back and concentrated on my essence. I tried to scribble my ideas and I came out with many new ideas. I am sure it is going to help me alot to proceed swatches.

CONCEPT BOARD

So, I was sitting and going through the blogs I had written earlier. Then I realized that I didn't put my fifth post on concept board. The worst part is that I even don't know much about it. But when our faculty will tell about it. I am sure it will come out nice.
A Concept Board is a tool commonly used in the industry to eastablish the theme of overall design and helps to stay focused the whole design project involves representing the particular topic, category or subject, which is adopted/developed and expended.

Swatches

EXPLORING IDEAS WAS FUN
As usual, I was sitting in front of laptop screen and thinking from where to start my new post on Baroque's Swatches. Have u ever heard the word "swatch"? If u didn't, there is nothing to worry because even I came to know about it few days back from my faculty. Swatches are the samples which depicts the essence of our topic. The essence I have taken out of my theme is Royalty and ellegance .So when I was thinking, the first thing that came to my mind is doing my first exploration with OHP sheet. I took motive from my inspiration board and explored it with different techniques. But before making final swatches, I scribbled my ideas and took help from my visual faculty. I got many ideas which I converted into swatches by exploring different techniques and materials

INSPIRATION BOARD

TO BE INSPIRED IS GREAT, TO INSPIRE IS INCREDIBLE
An Inspiration board is more specific and visual. A collection of visual references that are the starting point for elements that will eventually show up in the designed products.
There are many things which inspired but baroque's fashion fascinated me alot. All the detailings of royal gold embroidery were very beautiful. During the baroque era, baroque's fashion took lot of twist. The silhouette, which was essentially closed to the body with tight sleeves and a low, pointed waist to around 1615. You know what usually two skirts were worn, the overskirt open at the front. Decorative apron was very popular. Everything inpired me alot. Even today many fashion designers showcase their work which are inspired by baroque era.

COLOUR BOARD

"COLOURS ARE BRIGHTER WHEN THE MIND IS OPEN"
A Color board consists of one or many colors which are going to be used in final product. It may consist one or more images.
This board contains the meaning and psychology of colours. In many oter parts of the world and religions describe the meanings of colors differently. I have made this board to depict the colour which being used in baroque. In order to depict colours, I have used baroque's architect. I have tried to show most of baroque's colour .
On the right side, I have made baroque's colour pallete. Most of the colours used are golden, black, rust, brown, white and many more.

MATERIAL BOARD

CLASSICAL BEAUTY  IN A FANCY BAROQUE DRESS
A material board is a reflection of which material is going to be used in final product.
Here, I'm introducing you all to baroque's material board. Beginning with the material board was quiet difficult for me because finding all the stuff related to baroque was tuff. For collecting all the material,I went to a boutique and asked them to use their wasted clothes. Though it took lot of time but I enjoyed selecting baroque's material which made me realised that I have researched alot.
Most of the colour used in broque theme is gold, black, brown and many more. Velvet, brocade and net are the main fabrics of baroque.

baroque fashion

Here, I'm introducing you all with baroque fashion. When I started was exploring it,I got to know very interesting facts about baroque. They used exaggerated motion to produce drama, tension. The popularity of baroque was encouraged by CATHOLIC CHURCH. Baroque used lights, drama, space, colour as their THEMES.
U know what when I came across to baroque fashion, the one thing that fascinated me was women's gowns. Most of the colour used in baroque' theme is dark. The royal gold embroidery which is embeded on their clothes is so beautiful.
Fashion designers gained even more influence during this era,as people scrambled to be clothed in the latest styles. Fashion magzines emerged during this era, orignally aimed at intelligent readers, but quickly capturing the attention of lower classes with their colorful illustrations and up to date fashion news . Even though the fashion industry was ruined temporarily in france during the Revolution, it flourished in other European countries, especially England
During this period, a new silhouette for women was developing. Panniers or wide worn was developing . Panneries or wide hoops worn under the skirt that extended sideways, became a staple. Extremely wide panniers were worn a formal occasions, while smaller ones were worn in everyday settings. Waists are tightly constricted by corsets, providing contrast to wide skirts.

VISUAL DIARY

"THESE DAYS BAROQUE IS MY OTHER HALF"
I love exploring my interests. Fashion designing was always one of them. I realised writing is another of my niches I can explore. I have been utilising my weekends and doing this blog on my baroque visual diary. No wonder life is so paced at the moment. I am trying to keep my feet in every boat that comes sailing my way, fearing that I may become jack of all trades and master of none. Without waisting any more time that I have, I've given myself completely to this blog. It's my second semester project and all I wanted to score well.
U know what when I started researching on baroque,It influence me so much that I wanted to know more and more on baroque. Baroque came after renaissance. Main themes of baroque are drama, colour, space.time and many more. When I saw baroque architecture,It made me awestruck. Baroque's buildings and interior are so beautiful. Regular, repeating design gave way to curves and irregularity as various styles were mixed and adopted. In short baroque architect building was to some extent a kind of large sculpture.During this period music composers and performers use more ellaborate musical ornamentation made changes in musical notation and developed new instrumental playing techniques.Baroque music expanded the size, range and complexity of instrumental performance and also eastablished opera, cantata.oratorio, concerto and sonata as musical genres. I have researched about all the components of baroque but I'm taking baroque fashion further. So I will tell you about it on my next post.

MOOD BOARD

MY MOOD WHILE WORKING ON BAROQUE
I am starting to like you less, because I'm beginning to love you more and that's not my boyfriend, that's my mood board.
A mood board is typically  a collage of images, fonts, colors, textues and samples of objects that define the style of the project. It serves as a visual tool to quickly inform others of the overall "feel" of an idea or proposed product.
Here I'm acquainting you with my baroque's mood board. Making mood board was initally difficult for me because I didn't able to find the way to start. Then I thought to close my eyes and think about baroque in my mind. There were so many so many pictures came to my mind which helped me to make my mood board
